Dermatillomania is an impulse control disorder characterised by the repeated urge to pick at one’s own skin, often to the extent that damage is caused.

I’m not really in touch with the trich community (mostly ‘cause I really don’t want to think about or remember it), but it’s Awareness Week! If each and every one of my followers could just check out one of these links, I would appreciate it a lot. You might learn something, or realize you know someone with this disorder. You might even realize that you do this too. I hadn’t heard of it when my counselor noticed me pulling.
