You should pick someone you have to time travel to meet :) Spend most of the story on the exposition and make the person a twist/surprise at the end….more sci-fi, less boring prompt! (It’s all about ~bending the rules) ;p good luck!

Okay, so my English short story prompt is to either write a terrible self-insert or a story about being an obsessed fangirl.

“You have been given the chance to spend a day with a famous person of your choosing. This person may be a character from a book, a movie, television or some other source. Why did you choose the person you did? Why is meeting with this person important to you? Write a narrative about the time you spent with the famous person you have chosen.”

Damn it, when I saw it was short story assignment, I wanted to write a scientifically correct scifi story about special relativity.

So, I live in the San Jose area and used to take the train up to the city all the time. I don’t remember when we noticed it, but one day on the trip we noticed a silly gratified giraffe and then another, and then another, and then another. Once you’ve seen him, you start to see him EVERYWHERE.
He’s pretty much my favorite piece, and it’s a fun game of “Where’s Waldo?” when you’re driving around.

It makes me want to learn how to spray paint and get away with it so I can plaster cute chubby unicorns everywhere.

Oh my god, I thought it was just one truck that I was seeing everywhere!

B) You misspelled my name twice and sent me two versions of the same letter. Thanks for the complete waste of paper.

Something you may not know?

Leal is Spanish for “loyal.”

“Muy bien entonces” makes no sense in spanish. Directly translating an english phrase doesn’t always work. Would’ve been fine with just Muy Bien. Entonces isn’t used like that in spanish.

Yeah, I found the Spanish in this issue to be a very literal translation from English (and so many missing acentos ortográficos!). To be fair, I have heard “entonces” used that way, but very rarely. It means “in that case,” more than it means “then.”

In which I finally (finally) finish my first ever knitting project: a simple garter stitch scarf, which is altogether a bit lumpy and uneven. One end is way too tight while the other is way too loose. C’est la vie.

I’ll be giving this to my mom tomorrow for her 50th. And then I can start a new project. Yeah, you know what that means:
